Some fans shared that they hope Tekken 8 is an improvement from Tekken 7. In reply to the teaser, gamers expressed their hopes that a full trailer will be shown at The Game Awards along with more details about Tekken 8. Tekken 8 will continue this tradition, centering on a showdown between Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima. Since the beginning, the Tekken saga has featured the complicated drama of the Mishima family, involving devil genes, betrayal, and sons trying to kill their fathers. The feat was certified by Guinness World Records Japan in 2017, recognizing Tekken's more than 20 years of continuous storyline. The Tekken franchise boasts the longest-running story in any video game series. On the publisher's Website, Bandai Namco highlights "destructive and stunning visual effects" for each stage of the game. Tekken 8 was built with Unreal Engine 5, bringing high-definition graphics and character models to next-generation consoles. On September 13, Sony's State of Play officially revealed that the next release for the series would, in fact, be Tekken 8. At EVO 2022 in August, publisher Bandai Namco teased an upcoming game with a short video, telling fans to "Get Ready." It was speculated that the title would be Tekken Tag Tournament 3, Tekken 8, or a remake of an earlier entry in the franchise. Since then, the franchise has expanded to consoles, included more than 50 characters of diverse backgrounds, and hosted global esports tournaments.
